Kirk talks policy with McConnell during call

U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk received a phone call from the senate's top Republican Mitch McConnell.

McConnell wished Kirk well in his continuing therapy and recovery from a stroke. He also told him their senate colleagues are looking forward to welcoming him back.

McConnell said Kirk was eager to discuss policy during their conversation.

Doctors for the 52-year-old Kirk expect him to make a full mental recovery, but he may have some reduced movement on his left side.
