Do you experiencing lightheadedness after standing? It could mean your blood pressure is dropping suddenly, and it could be a sign that you may be at a greater risk for developing heart failure.

The condition is known as orthostatic hypotension. According to a new study, people with this condition were 54 percent more likely to develop heart failure.

The risk was reduced to 34 percent when the researchers took in to account people with high blood pressure.

Scientists in the journal Hypertension don't know why this is the case. They add it doesn't mean a person will die of heart failure but that these patients should be monitored.
