Schneider won Tuesday's Illinois primary with 46-percent of the vote. He was followed by Ilya Sheyman with 38-percent; John Tree with 8-percent; and Vivek Bavda with 5-percent.
Schneider will take on 10th District freshman Republican Robert Dold in November. He said he'll focus on the same issues in the campaign against Dold.
"We had a tough race getting to this point. There are points one of my opponents went negative and we stayed positive and intend to stay positive. I don't want to change, it's worked this far and think it will work in November," Schneider said.
The remapped 10th District includes parts of Lake and Cook County and now goes all the way up the Wisconsin border along the lake and stretches further into some of the northwest suburbs.
