Thirty-year-old Erik Hernandez faces several charges, including first degree murder home invasion and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.
The shooting happened in the 2500-block of Hacker Drive near Crest Hill.
Juan Gonzalez was killed. Another man was also shot but survived.
Hernandez is now being held at the Will County jail on $10 million bond.
