Friends and family were among those gathering Thursday evening to march and hold a vigil near the home where 12-year-old Arianna Quiroz and her 11-year-old cousin Selena were shot on Tuesday.
Both girls remain hospitalized.
A family friend says Arianna's condition is improving.
East Chicago Police say the girls were in the living room of the house when a resident heard a vehicle stop outside followed by multiple gunshots.
