Charges upgraded against woman in fatal crash

April 3, 2012 (CHICAGO)

Jessica Bahena, the driver of a Chevy Malibu, failed to yield while making a left turn in the 4400-block of South Archer at South Sawyer, police said.

The driver of the other car, Ahmad Kishta, 28, was killed. In all, four other people were hurt, including Bahena, two of Kishta's passengers and a man riding in Bahena's car. She was originally charged with misdemeanor DUI, and cited for failure to yield the right of way while turning left, driving without a driver's license and driving without insurance, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.

Kishta was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:48 a.m. Sunday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
