Ex-Warrenville alderman sentenced to 5 years

April 3, 2012 (WARRENVILLE, Ill.)

Prosecutors say 28-year-old Christopher Halley took $5,500 from an acquaintance in return for equipment which he never provided.

Halley resigned as Warrenville alderman after admitting to two earlier thefts while in office.

In one, Halley accepted money for Chicago Bears and Blackhawks tickets which he never delivered.

In another, Halley took money to set up a "meet and greet" with former President Bush, which never happened.
