Susan Carnes has seen a lot in her nearly 30 years of service. Nothing seemed unusual at first on a flight from Africa to Atlanta, until a passenger reported a lady on her aisle was screaming.
Carnes realized the woman was in labor and immediately asked the flight crew for help, grabbing gloves, sterilized scissors and a flashlight.
An OB-GYN happened to be on the flight and took over while Carnes comforted the mother.
The baby boy and his mother are said to be fine.
The plane made an emergency landing in Senegal after the birth.
