Cubs introduce new corporate partnerships

April 5, 2012 (PRESS RELEASE)

"The Cubs are committed to enhancing Wrigley Field and providing a memorable experience for our fans. It's important to partner with the right corporate brands as we pursue these goals. We're proud to share several new and expanded corporate partnerships for the 2012 season that will help us reinvest into the team and Wrigley Field," said Wally Hayward, executive vice president, chief sales and marketing officer, Chicago Cubs.

Two new seating areas of the ballpark offer specialized all-inclusive experiences for groups. The Audi Legends Suite is located on the first-base side of the Nuveen Investments Suite Level of Wrigley Field and is available for game day rental for up to 14 people. Each suite rental includes a visit and autographed baseball and ball cube from a former Cubs player, a behind-the-scenes pregame historical tour of Wrigley Field, an all-inclusive gourmet menu provided by Levy Restaurants, and recognition of the group's suite rental in a pregame public address announcement and ballpark LED boards.

The Budweiser Patio is located in the right field section of the Budweiser Bleachers. The patio can accommodate groups of 50, 100 or 150 guests, with each section of 50 tickets including both seated and standing room only tickets. Each ticket includes an all-inclusive food and beverage package, including popular Budweiser products. The addition of the Budweiser Patio includes a 75-foot Panasonic LED board that will display pertinent game information such as pitch count, player pictures and statistics to fans throughout the ballpark.

The team has incorporated additional signage in several locations within the ballpark. Target and Tervis Tumbler, Official Cup of the Chicago Cubs, will feature their logos on the right-center field outfield door and left-center field outfield door, respectively. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority will promote Las Vegas on the gate near the Cubs' batting circle down the third-base line. CDW, a leading provider of technology solutions, will have signage on the right-field foul territory wall pads. The Under Armour logo remains displayed on the outfield doors in left and right field.

AthletiCo Physical Therapy recently expanded their relationship with the team to become the Official Provider of Physical Therapy to the Chicago Cubs. AthletiCo will now provide the team with a full-time physical therapist, in addition to an athletic training intern, to work under the direction of Mark O'Neal, director of athletic training, and the team's physicians. Additional new elements of the partnership include sponsorship of the Cubs' pregame warm-ups, new in-game signage, presenting sponsorship of the Race to Wrigley 5K Run, and becoming the Official Provider of Physical Therapy for the Wrigley Field Road Tour; an annual 100-mile charity bike ride that benefits Chicago Cubs Charities and World Bicycle Relief.

The Cubs selected six new Wrigley Field ball boys/ball girls through a partnership with CareerBuilder. Christopher Briddick, Tracy Hathaway, Mallorie Jenson, Alyssa Podwell, John Sidorowicz and Vincent Virgilio will serve in this role throughout the 2012 season. Nearly 50 semifinalists attended live tryouts at BASH Sports Academy in Chicago before a group of finalists traveled to Mesa, Ariz. to perform the required job duties during Spring Training. Chicago Cubs ball boys/ball girls are responsible for monitoring the out-of-play lines for right and left field and retrieving baseballs once they are designated foul by the base umpires. Attendants will rotate the responsibility of delivering new baseballs to the home plate umpire as necessary.

Finally, fans will enjoy new food offerings at Wrigley Field this season. Qdoba Mexican Grill will serve chips and queso at the new Qdoba Mexican Grill Queso Cart, located near aisle 134. Cholula Hot Sauce will be available at this location and all condiment stations in Wrigley Field. This product will be featured on the new spicy Cholula Tator Tots. Guests interested in exploring Wrigley Field's food options, such as the Qdoba Mexican Grill Queso Cart, may search the amenities map at http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/chc/ballpark/index.jsp.
