This is the first full season under the command of new artistic director Robert Battle. Among the surprises this time around is "Arden Court", the first Ailey mounting of a work by Paul Taylor, the modern dance giant and contemporary of Ailey himself. Set to William Boyce's baroque score, this piece has been hailed by the The New York Times for the "irresistible pleasure of its dancing." The program also includes Alvin Ailey's signature masterpiece, Revelations.
