Heroin ring busted in Indianapolis also operated in Chicago

April 16, 2012 (INDIANAPOLIS)

Authorities seized more than 8 pounds of heroin with a street value of $400,000. They also got guns, more than $400,000 in cash, and vehicles including a flatbed trailer. They say the ring operated in Indianapolis, South Bend and Chicago.

All the drugs were seized in Indiana.

"This has put a significant hit on the heroin traffic ring in greater Indianapolis area, really a multi-state area," said Indiana State Police Captain Dave Bursten.

Six men were arrested. They face felony drug charges and up to 50 years in prison.
