A person was taken into custody Friday after Indiana State Police detectives found human remains at a residence in unincorporated Lake County.
Detectives executed a search warrant in the 3900 block of Calhoun in Gary after receiving a tip about possible remains at the residence. The person taken into custody is considered a person of interest and has not been formally charged.
The investigation, which includes a forensic anthropologist, continues.
