Marmol out as Cubs closer

May 4, 2012 (CHICAGO)

Marmol got a little wild again Thursday, losing a three-run lead in the ninth to the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds scored three runs in the ninth off Marmol to tie it, and Scott Rolen hit a sacrifice fly in the 10th inning for a 4-3 victory and a split of their two-game series.

Cubs manager Dale Sveum said he will use a combination of left-hander James Russell and right-hander Rafael Dolis to close games for now, ESPN is reporting.
