Amber Alert: 2 children abducted in Peoria

May 10, 2012 (PEORIA, Ill.)

Both children are African American.

Police say they were taken by their mother, 20-year-old Nyway Abbaa. She does not have custody of the children.

Abbaa was accompanied by King Peterson, a black male, 25 years of age, 6'0" tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds.

The children were last seen around 10:30 a.m. near the 300-block of South West Washington Street.

Police say the mother fled in a green Mercury wagon with the license plate number: P487981.

Anyone with information should call 9-1-1 and advise they have an Amber Alert report.

The vehicle was last seen northbound on Hamilton, downtown Peoria.
