NATO host: Air travel won't be impacted

May 11, 2012 (CHICAGO)

During an appearance on ABC7's Newsviews, Lori Healey said many of the delegations will come on their own aircraft so they will be separate from the terminals. She said she doesn't anticipate any impact to commercial air traffic.

As for the delegations traveling to and from O'Hare, Healey says the motorcades will go with the traffic.

"They're in the same traffic you or I would be," Healey said. "They're not presidential shutdowns. There's only a couple of high level folks that get that kind of attention. So the vast majority of people just go with traffic. We do tell folks in Chicago that for that Monday you should really take public transportation no matter where you live."
