10 hurt in Tinley Park restaurant mob attack

May 19, 2012 (TINLEY PARK, Ill.) Tinley Park police say the incident happened Saturday at Ashford House in the southwestern Chicago suburb. They say the diners were gathered for a meal when a group of between 15 and 18 people "began an altercation" with them. Police say they think the mob targeted the diners.

Tinley Park police and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force are investigating.

The Sun-Times is reporting a wedding party was attacked with bats. Three people were taken to the hospital.

The offenders fled in three vehicles. One vehicle and its passengers were apprehended approximately five minutes later near the intersection of 159th and Harlem. The other vehicles fled the area.

Five Caucasian men were being held in custody.
