Obamas, dignitaries arrive at O'Hare for NATO summit

May 19, 2012 (CHICAGO)

After chatting on the ground for a few minutes, the Obamas and the Emanuels boarded Marine One for the helicopter ride downtown to Soldier Field.

The president's arrival capped off a day when most of the world leaders participating in the NATO summit arrived. Early landings included the leaders of Azerbaijan, Romania, the United Arab Emirates and the Czech Republic, while others, including British Prime Minister David Cameron, and the newly elected French president Francois Hollande, who were already in the United States for the G-8 conference in Camp David, Maryland, landed at about the same time as President Barack Obama.

All of the delegations were greeted by color guards and representatives of the state department and then taken by motorcade to their downtown hotels.
