Firefighters battle SW Side fires overnight

May 22, 2012 (CHICAGO)

Huge flames lit up the night sky. Firefighters also had to deal with a lot of smoke at the scene.

The fire was out before sunrise Tuesday, and no one was injured.

A building collapsed during another intense fire, this one in the Southwest Side Brighton Park neighborhood.

The fire happened in a two-story vacant building in the 4600-block of S. Troy.

No injuries were reported, but firefighters were unable to search the building as a result of the collapse.

There was no word early Tuesday on what caused either fire.
