Radioactive tuna? Japan nuclear crisis blamed for increased radiation levels in bluefin tuna

Unusual radiation levels are being found in the bluefin tuna along the California coast, and Japan's nuclear plant crisis is to blame.

Scientists have found the fish have 10 times higher contamination than the amount usually found in tuna. They have carried the radioactive material 6,000 miles from Japan.

But researchers say the levels are still well within the "safe-to-eat" limits.

Details of the study are in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science.
