A judge has set bond at $1 million for Jonathan Ortiz, 23, who was charged Friday after a medical examiner determined the child died from injuries due to abuse.
South Chicago Heights police say Ortiz called 911 when 4-month-old Sophia Ortiz stopped breathing Tuesday night.
Paramedcis revived her, but she died later at a hospital.
Investigators say the cause of death was injuries due to abuse.
