Summertime in Chicago is synonymous with two things: great outdoor festivals and tourists, both of which are important for our city.

Gospel Music Festival
June 21-24, 2012
The Chicago Gospel Music Festival will take place June 21-24, 2012 at Millennium Park, the Chicago Cultural Center, and its new home - in Chicago's beautiful Bronzeville neighborhood. Enjoy music by some of Gospel music's greatest artists such as Mary Mary, Fred Hammond and more

Chicago Pride Fest & Parade

It's all about GLBT pride at Chicago Pride Fest Slated to be held June 22-23, 2012 ? immediately before Chicago's iconic Pride Parade on June 24 ? this festive two-day event marks the first official party of summer. This crowd-pleasing gay and lesbian celebration of community pride showcases an eclectic lineup of arts and crafts, food and other vendors. It also features entertainment on two stages with one dedicated to some of Chicago's fine performers in the gay community.

Taste of Chicago
July 11 - 15, 2012

The Taste of Chicago is the world's largest food festival, held annually in Grant Park, The event is the largest festival in Chicago. Non-food-related events include live music on multiple stages, including the Petrillo Music Shell, pavilions, and film performances.

Grant Park
Lollapalooza is the annual music festival featuring popular bands. It is held in Grant Park each year. Visit the Lollapalooza website for lineup and schedule.

2012 Ryder Cup
Sept 25-30
Medinah Country Club, Medinah IL
The 39th Ryder Cup Matches will be held September 28?30, 2012, at the Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois. It will be the first time Illinois has staged the competition. Europe will be the defending Cup holder.

Chicago Air & Water Show

The Chicago Air and Water is the largest FREE show of its kind in the United States. The show can be viewed along the lakefront from Fullerton to Oak Street, with North Avenue Beach as the focal point.
