In the United States, sports arenas came in as the most popular destinations in numerous cities, including Wrigley in Chicago and San Francisco's AT&T Park.
In London, a city known for producing musical talent, the O2 Concert arena is the most "social" landmark. Going indoors to a casino is the most popular destination to visit in Melbourne, Australia. In New York City, Times Square takes the top spot.
Among the no. 1 ranked landmarks across the 25 cities:

- 2 are shopping-related: shopping centers/malls
Cities with warmer climates had more check-ins to outdoors spots, like St. Kilda Beach in Melbourne and the Wynyard Quarter wharf in Auckland, while colder climes had more activity in concert halls or bars. Six of Moscow's 10 most popular slots belong to bars and clubs.
Examining check-ins by season, music festivals like Glastonbury and Lollapalooza appear as top summer check-ins.
