Illinois Senator Durbin cancels hearing on NFL bounties

Illinois Senator Dick Durbin has called off a congressional hearing on so-called "bounties" in the NFL.

The senator - after meeting with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell - says he's satisfied with the league's response to the scandal involving the New Orleans Saints paying players for knocking opponents out of games.

"What I hear from them is a good faith effort to acknowledge that problem existed, and deal with it. That to me is dramatically different than a lot of issues presented to us in Congress."

Part of the league's action includes setting up an anonymous hotline for players to call to report suspected bounty activity.
