Four men face armed robbery charges after a traffic stop on Chicago's South Side.

Authorities say the driver, Richard Johnson, ran a red light near 79th and South Ellis around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. One of his passengers, Glen Williams, allegedly tossed a gun into the back seat.

Jamal Preacely and Kendrick Martin were also passengers in the car.

Police later discovered the car had been reported stolen. Inside they found cash, cell phones and ID cards.

The men are suspected in several robberies that happened Tuesday night in the 1100-block of East 80th Street, the 7200-block of Saint Lawrence Avenue and the 8000-block of South Rhodes Avenue.
