Chicago cools off: Temps expected to stay in low 80s

June 21, 2012 (CHICAGO)

A few spotty showers fell across the area Thursday morning; they traveled into some parts of Chicago with a cold front that produced heavier rain in Iowa and Missouri. That front will also usher in some cooler temperatures and less humid, drier air.

After three days in the 90s, the high for Thursday is expected to be around 84-degrees. That's only two degrees higher than the average of 82.

The cloud cover will hang on through the morning, ABC7 Meteorologist Tracy Butler said, but the sun should shine again in the afternoon.
