Pizza delivery drivers warned after string of North Side robberies

Chicago police are warning businesses on the North Side to be alert after a series of armed robberies and assaults on pizza delivery drivers.

The incidents have all taken place within the past month. Three happened in the same block, the 4700-block of North Beacon Street. The others happened nearby.

Police say the drivers were each confronted at gunpoint by two men wearing bandanas over their faces.

In two cases, the suspects assaulted the driver using the butt of a handgun.

Incident times and locations:

  • 4500 block of N. Greenview Ave. on May 28, 2012 at approximately 12:00AM.
  • 4700 block of N. Beacon St. on June 10, 2012 at approximately 11:45PM.
  • 2400 block of W. Belle Plaine Ave. on June 20, 2012 at approximately 10:30PM.
  • 4700 block of N. Beacon St. on June 21, 2012 at approximately 2:00PM.
  • 4700 block of N. Beacon St. on June 24, 2012 at approximately 1:15AM.
