Police said the victims were gathered with others in a park in the 300-block of South Albany Avenue when gunfire erupted just before 1 a.m. Sunday.
A 21-year-old man was shot in the head and died. A 27-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were wounded and treated at hospitals.
No one is in custody yet.
In another shooting, a 3-year-old boy was shot in the arm while walking with his mother and father.
It happened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday. Paramedics took him to the hospital in stable condition.
Detectives don't think the child was the target.
