Seven people were rescued from Lake Michigan Wednesday evening in two incidents that took place just minutes apart.

A member of the Chicago Police Marine Unit jumped from a helicopter to save a 4-year-old boy.

He and his parents were on a raft that capsized near 51st Street.

The boy got back onto the raft and the parents swam to shore.

And police rescued six people when their boat sank near Navy Pier.

No one was hurt.

There's no word what caused the boat to sink.

Both incidents took place about 5:30 Wednesday evening.
