Massachusetts woman charged with stalking Theo Epstein

July 17, 2012 (CHICAGO)

Forty-four-year-old Kathleen Kearney of Canton, Massachusetts, is charged with two felony counts of stalking. A judge set her bond Tuesday at $75,000.

Monday morning, Kearney went to the family's house in Wrigleyville and talked to Epstein's wife, who then called her husband about the incident. Epstein then called police.

Later in the day, Kearney returned to the home and even called out Theo Epstein's name. Police arrested her a block away.

Kearney told police she had been watching the home and was hoping to invite Epstein to church.

Authorities say that the woman had been previously warned about contacting the Cubs boss or stopping by his home.

This isn't the first time that Epstein has had problems with an alleged stalker. He reportedly had similar issues while he was the general manager of the Boston Red Sox.
