Report: iPhone 5 to have thinner screen

July 17, 2012 (CHICAGO)

The Wall Street Journal reports the tech giant is using new technology to make the smartphone's screen thinner. The paper cited people familiar with the matter.

The Journal reports Apple plans to integrate touch sensors into LCD screens. That means the company won't need a second screen layer, making the phone thinner.

According to the Journal, analysts expect the iPhone 5 to hit stores as early as this fall.
