Ford will start ditching steel for aluminum in its top-selling truck starting in 2014.

USA Today reports ford will build its F-Series pickup with three times more aluminum.

Ford says the metal will save gas, but it will make the truck more expensive.

Reports say aluminum will add $1,500 to the F-Series price tag, but drivers can look forward to almost 10 percent in fuel savings.

The F-Series has been the best-selling vehicle in the U.S. for 30 years.
