Reznick Group moving from Skokie to Chicago

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced Monday that the accounting firm Reznick Group would move its Midwest headquarters from north suburban Skokie into Chicago.

The move will take place in the next year and will bring 150 to 200 total jobs to downtown by the end of 2015, the mayor's office says.

With national eadquarters in Bethesda, Md., Reznick Group is ranked among the top 20 accounting firms in the United States. Reznick Group was founded in 1977 and has offices around the country and in India.

In May of this year, Reznick Group and J.H. Cohn LLP, in Roseland, N.J., announced plans to merge and become the 11th largest accounting firm in the country with more than 2,000 employees, 25 offices and combined revenues of more than $450 million.

The mayor's office says this is the 32nd jobs announcement made by Mayor Emanuel since he took office in May of 2011, totaling more than 20,000 jobs.
