Rare wombats arrive at Brookfield Zoo

There are currently only nine wombats in captivity anywhere in North America.

They're fun, furry, and extremely rare, and two of them have arrived at Brookfield Zoo.

The orphaned, southern, hairy-nosed wombats came from Australia last month.

On Wednesday, after a mandatory three-week health quarantine, they were shown off by zoo staff and put on display.

Eventually the wombats will go to Toronto's zoo where they will hopefully breed.

There are currently only nine wombats in captivity anywhere in North America.
