Cougar sightings reported in Glencoe

August 3, 2012 (GLENCOE, Ill.)

Another sighting was reported on April 15 on the bluff below the Hazel Avenue overlook.

Animal Care and Control plans to install a camera in the area of the last reported sighting to see if they can capture any images of the giant cat.

Officials say there are no sustained populations of cougars in Illinois, but young cougars have been known to pass through the Midwest after being pushed out of their home in South Dakota.
