Senator Mark Kirk (R-IL) has released a new video showing his continued progress as he battles back from the stroke he suffered in January. The video shows Kirk in physical therapy as well as meeting with fellow lawmakers. CLICK HERE to watch the video.

Kirk's speech continues to be a bit halting, but is improving. He is also shown walking without the assistance of a cane.

"Right now I talk to my staff several times a day," Kirk said in the video posted on YouTube. The Senator's office has continued to issue press releases and comment on news of the day via Twitter in an effort to show Kirk is engaged and working, despite the fact he has not been able to return to Washington, DC or cast votes in the last seven months.

Kirk also commented on the search committee he and Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) have assembled to pick a successor for US Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald. Kirk said he wants to "make sure we have a US Attorney who is just as good as Patrick Fitzgerald... [and ] as much like Patrick Fitzgerald that we can get."
