Childhood friendships may lead to adult satisfaction

It's not intelligence or academic success that leads to happiness.

According to one study, the key to satisfaction as an adult may be determined by the friendships created during childhood.

Australian researchers say a sense of connection, social involvement and coping strategies are important traits to develop throughout life.

They followed more than 800 people for 32 years for the study and published their results in "The Journal of Happiness.
