Chicago police say 10 people have been shot and wounded in the past 24 hours on the city's South and West sides.

Some of the shootings appeared to involve gang members.

The Chicago Tribune reported Saturday that among those hurt was an 18-year-old hit in the chest in a drive-by shooting in the Pilsen neighborhood.

He's in critical condition. Witnesses told police they heard the assailants shouting gang slogans.

Overnight shooting victims also included a man with a bag of money who thought he was meeting someone to buy a car.

Instead, two other people turned up with handguns. The 24-year-old dropped the bag of money, but the assailants shot him.

Another shooting targeted a 27-year-old who had been arrested 63 times. He was shot in the buttocks.
