JFK security breached by stranded jet skier

August 13, 2012 (NEW YORK)

You'd expect it to have a state-of-the-art security system, but you wouldn't expect a jet skier to breach the perimeter and walk into a terminal without notice.

Daniel Casillo, 31, was out with some friends racing around Jamaica Bay near the airport when his jet ski stalled. Casillo swam toward the only thing he could see: Runway lights.

Once he hit land, Casillo climbed an eight-foot barbed-wire perimeter fence, walked across two runways and entered Delta's terminal.

After an airline employee saw him, police charged Casillo with criminal trespassing.

"I think he should be given dinner and a bottle of champagne for showing us our faults," said security expert Nicholas Casale.

Apparently someone wasn't watching the monitors.

The New York Port Authority tells ABC News it has increased its police presence at JFK.
