Ron Miner won a local heroes contest put on as part of National Mobility Awareness Month. The Army veteran received a 2012 Toyota Sienna.
"Lord knows I could use a new van," said Miner. "My big van I've had for 11 years, it has a lot of miles on it, a lot of volunteer work at Great Lakes Naval Base, where I coach kids in wheelchairs."
The van was presented to Miner at Continental Toyota in Hodgkins.
