Bishop Ford shooting injures 2 in Dolton

August 25, 2012 (DOLTON, Ill.)

Just before 3 a.m., two men were shot after some sort of confrontation. They were transported to Roseland Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

A light-colored SUV with bullet holes was towed from the scene later Saturday morning as state police continued their investigation.

The temporary lane closures were in effect between Sibley Boulevard and 130th Street and lasted several hours. Traffic was being diverted off the expressway, but drivers were allowed to re-enter north of 130th Street.

The inbound lanes were reopened by 8:30 a.m. All outbound lanes remained opened, as well.

No information on a possible motive for the shooting was released Saturday. Police would only say they were investigating.

No suspects were in police custody.
