Emmett Till anniversary march aims to stop violence in Chicago

Till was a 14-year-old Chicago teenager when he was brutally murdered for whistling at a white woman on August 28, 1955, while in Mississippi.

Till's murder became a catalyst for the Civil Rights Movement.

Tuesday evening, Till's family is holding a march and rally to commemorate the date but also to help stop the violence in Chicago.

The march started around 5:30 p.m. at 71st and Vincennes. It will end with a rally at St. Columbanus Church.
