Break-in, sex assault reported near UIC

August 29, 2012 (CHICAGO)

The break-in took place Monday in the 1000-block of West 16th Street around 4 a.m. as the victim slept. Police say the attacker cut through a screen to a balcony door of the woman's apartment and went into her bedroom with a blue steel handgun.

The attacker is described as a black man in his 30s. He threatened to return if the victim contacted the police or told anyone, police say.
