Hospital gown helps female patients maintain dignity

September 7, 2012 (PROVIDENCE, R.I.)

Sharon Linder created a gown she calls the "Jane." It is especially designed for female patients. It's light, looks like a robe and is "accessible" with privacy in mind.

Linder's mother and sisters battled breast cancer and spent a lot of time in traditional, coarse hospital gowns. They have to be worn backside front for mammograms and exams. The "Jane" makes the process easier and more dignified.

The "Jane" is available online and a portion of the proceeds will help low income women pay for breast screenings.
