Just after 12 a.m. Monday, police say they wounded a man in the 7900-block of South South Shore Drive near Rainbow Beach.
There was no word later Monday on what led to the shooting or the suspect's condition.
In another incident, police shot a robbery suspect on West Bloomingdale on the city's West Side.
According to police, officers were trying to question the suspect when they believed he might have been reaching for a gun. Officers shot him.
The man was listed in serious condition.
