Missing South Side girl, 12, found safe

September 13, 2012 (CHICAGO)

Jaylin Johnson left her home in the 6800-block of South Prairie Tuesday. She was heading toward Harlan High School's Children First site. Along the way she ran into two friends and they all left together and hadn't been seen since. She was found safe Thursday morning.

Jacqueline Johnson, Jaylin's mother, says the child was opposed to a recent family move, and that may have something to do with her disappearance.

"I don't know what to do. My heart is heavy. I've been crying all day. I'm walking in a total zone, I don't know what to do," said Jacqueline Johnson.

Jaylin went missing with two other girls, ages 11 and 14. All had cell phones and apparently turned them off.
