Chicago police are investigating the theft of three checks from President Barack Obama's campaign headquarters.

Police will only say they are investigating a theft in the 100-block of East Randolph.

The Obama campaign says three checks to vendors made it into the wrong hands.

Midwest Press Secretary Ben Finkenbinder says he doesn't expect the theft to have any impact on the campaign. He would not say how much money the checks were for or provide other details on the theft.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
