Researchers from the University of Calgary say they have new proof that a flavonoid found in chocolate can improve the memory.

Snails were used in the study in which researchers discovered the flavanoid epicatechin, which is found in dark chocolate, strengthened the snails' long term memory and affected how they breathe.

The study is published in "The Journal Of Experimental Biology."
