Mrs. Jackson issued a statement in response to a published report by a columnist in the Chicago Sun-Times that said he had been "given the green light if he feels up to it" by doctors to return to work.
"He has not received approval from his doctor's to return to work. He will continue to convalesce with his family in Washington DC. Again, thanks for continued prayers and well wishes," Mrs. Jackson said in a statement.
Jackson has been on a leave of medical leave of absence since June. He was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
