Police in the northern suburbs are looking for a vehicle involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash near the intersection of 33rd and North Geneva Lane in Zion.

It happened just after 5 a.m. Wednesday morning.

A passing motorist called police after noticing the body of a man in the middle of the street. The man was deceased when police arrived.

The victim is in his 20s. His name has not been released.

Initials account said the vehicle believed to have fled the scene is a red Toyota four-door with front-end and front wheel well damage.

Zion Police Chief Wayne Brooks said the residential area has no sidewalks, so it is not unusual to see people walking along the street.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Zion Police Department.
