What's the cure for a broken heart? New York Times Bestselling authors Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus attempt to answer that age old question through the protagonist in their latest novel, ''Over You.''

McLaughlin and Kraus are the best-selling authors of "The Nanny Diaries", which was released as a major motion picture starring Scarlett Johansson. In their second young adult novel, "Over You" the heart of a 17 year old by the name of Max Scott is broken. After that happens, she launches a business to help girls in New York bounce back from tough breakups.

Naturally, things get complicated when Max's ex-boyfriend shows up on her doorstep. McLaughlin and Kraus say they aim to send a message to teenage girls that it takes courage and resilience to face heartbreak.

McLaughlin and Kraus' top five things you should do to get over a break up:

1. Treat your ex like an addiction.

2. Treat yourself like an athlete.

3. Enlist a cheerleader.

4. You can always call tomorrow.

5. Don't be your own worst publicist.
